Biographical information

Jennyfer A. Holmes is the Senior Scholarship and Development Officer of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. She is responsible for $1.8 million in scholarship funds that support over 600 students in Greater Hartford. In her role, she works with students, parents, counselors and financial aid, and generous donors to support scholars in achieving higher education. She is also on the major gifts team and works with individuals, families and businesses to create funds that carry out their philanthropic goals. After a nationally competitive process, Jennyfer was accepted into the 21/64 Certified Advisors of Color program. It amplifies BIPOC philanthropic professionals with knowledge on multigenerational family philanthropy to promote inclusive practices in advising and in turn, expand donor funding. Prior to HFPG, she was a manager of INROADS New England Region, securing student internships with corporations and worked in underwriting for Chubb Insurance. An active volunteer, Jennyfer served on the American School for the Deaf, Aurora Women and Girls Foundation, Junior League of Hartford, Inc boards and currently serves on the boards of Connecticut Women’s Council and Harriett Beecher Stowe Center. She is a member of the Farmington Valley Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, serves on an Eastern Area committee, and was a Fellow of the Scott Hawkins Leadership Institute. Jennyfer is a Diamond Life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Spelman College with a BA in Political Science, Jennyfer serves as President of the New England alumnae chapter. A lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Milford, Jennyfer chairs the Historical Ministry. She was featured in the Milford Mirror and New Haven Register for documenting Milford’s 6 Black Revolutionary War heroes. Jennyfer is a devoted daughter, super sister, awesome aunt and great Godmother.
